Surprised? General Phil Sheridan famously said, “If I owned Hell and Texas I would rent out Texas and live in Hell.” I think Algore certainly would prefer Hell over Texas. But, I digress. How about that Rick Perry, governor of the Great State of Texas.
Governor Perry was addressing a group in Dallas yesterday (16 December 2009) when he disclosed where Algore was residing now. Governor Perry was at one time a Democrat. He was chairman of the Texas Campaign committee for Algore when he ran for President. Governor Perry was being quizzed about his past unfortunate associations. Someone in the crowd asked, “Did you get religion? Did he get religion?” and “What has happened since then?”
“I certainly got religion,” was Governor Perry’s reply, “I think he’s gone to hell.”
Upon hearing the line, the room exploded with laughter and applause.
“I think they agree,” Perry said after the room quieted down.
This was all as reported by the Dallas Morning News. Now I am not sure why I am mentioning this at all. Algore causing Americans everywhere to explode with laughter for years is old news. The man is a hoot I tell you.
Merry Christmas BB & Bubbette!
Thanks! Same to y’all.
I have been reviewing the list above for something hinky involving the Exalted Cyclops. I homed in on the obvious – Naval Station Sugar Grove, W.V. Where do they berth the ships? It turns out to be quite legitimate. The Naval Station was established in the same year the Exalted Cyclops was elected to the Senate, 1959. It is a Naval Security Group activity.
I was amazed about the (http://coldwar-c4i.net/Sugar_Grove/history.html) available on the internet about Sugar Grove. My father spent half his military career in the Air Force Security Service the A.F. counterpart of this type of activity. I am somewhat familiar with the concept of remote radio intercept locations. Dad was assigned to several.
I am now curious about the naming of a military community center for a sitting senator. We have several military activities located here in Military City, U.S.A. I cannot recall a single street, building or activity named after a politician and certainly not a sitting politician. Fort Sam Houston does come to mind, but, an Exalted Cyclops certainly does not rise to the President of a Republic level.
I am going to further investigate what is named after whom on military installations.
