Capitalism Rears Its Ugly Head

Barack Hussein Obama’s, and his minions’, attempt to dismantle capitalism has taken an ugly turn.  It is now starting to assume the appearance of a very high stakes “Whac-A-Mole” game and the moles are winning.

“The New York Times on Tuesday reported former American International Group Inc. (NYSE:AIG) CEO Maurice “Hank” Greenberg has been luring salary-lite AIG executives away and bringing them over to the insurance conglomerate he currently heads up, C.V. Starr & Co. In doing so, he is “basically just starting ‘AIG Two’ and raiding people out of ‘AIG One,’ ” according to one insurance executive.”  This fascinating excerpt is from “Oh no, Hank Greenburg is a capitalist!” in thedeal.com.

Ok, here’s the deal.  You are a member of AIG upper management.  You have been informed by “pay czar” Kenneth Feinberg that from now on you will be paid minimum wage.  Along comes former American International Group Inc. CEO Maurice “Hank” Greenberg and offer you what you are worth to him at his new employer, AIG competitor,  C.V. Starr & Co.

Would that really be a hard choice for anyone?  Personally I would opt for free market capitalism.  If you think Wall Street has nailed you to the wall just wait and see where Hussein, Big Labor, and the usual suspect pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracists take you next.

Will The U.N. Rescue American Housing?

Say what?!  Check out this article in the former great New York Times, “Affordable? U.N. Puts a Questioning Eye on New York’s Housing.”  The United Nations is so concerned about affordable housing in this country they are sending special rapporteur Raquel Rolnik to New York, New Orleans, an Indian Reservation, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Wilkes-Barre, Pa.  She will be there to “hear the voices of those who are suffering on the ground.”

Personally I hope and pray that we will not be found in violation of human rights.  However, if we are abusing our citizens we are fortunate to have a President ready, willing and able to go anywhere, anytime to apologize for shameful behavior of the people of the United States.

A Failure of Intellect

There is a reason I call progressive liberal demoracists “pseudo intellectuals.”  When it comes to true intellectualism pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracists are nothing more than “wannabes.”

Consider this comment by David Gregory, “Meet the Press” moderator: “Well, I think, as the citation [for the Nobel Prize] points out, this is a lot more about tone than it is substantive accomplishment. In many ways, this is a European body who is more left-leaning, certainly, and opposed to the administration of George W. Bush….”

Compare that to the reality based true intellect of Founding Father Ben Franklin:  Well done is better than well said.

Do you see the difference?

Mystery Solved!

Barack Hussein was the director of Illinois Project Vote registering minority voters in the election year, 1992.  My guess is that 22 April 1993 he was sitting at home watching “Cheers” (Season 11, Episode 21), Woody Gets an Election.  It was to become a moment of epic proportions for American politics.

The Cheers regulars are doing their thing one day when city councilman, Kevin Fogarty, enters with a photographer and begins glad-handing the crowd.  During the process Fogarty totally sidesteps a straight answer to any questions.

When Fogarty leaves, Frasier challenges everyone to a bet that no matter how impossible the candidate anyone could receive at least 10% of the vote.  Everyone wants a piece of the action.  Frasier selects Woody Boyd to run for office, prove his point and win his bet.  Their campaign consists of a few posters, posted around the neighborhood, with Woody’s picture.

A local reporter shows up at Cheers to cover the Woody election story.  Somehow her questions lead to a tortured Woody story about life on the farm, rats in the barn, and what causes rats to flee the barn.  The ensuing confusion leads to the reporter mistakenly interpreting the nonsense story as a very deep political allegory.

Woody zooms to 8% in the polls.  The Cheers regulars are ready to throw in the towel on their bet with Frasier.  Then the bombshell.  Woody finds out that he is expected to debate Fogarty on TV.

Woody tells Frasier that he wants out.  He will not know what to say or do complains Woody.  Dr. Crane offers sage advice.  Are you ready for this?  He advises Woody to tell some of his silly farm stories because the voters seem to like them.  He adds that if that doesn’t work he should say “change” about 100 times.

That night Frasier has a nightmare about Woody becoming President, with his finger on the red button, he accidentally starts a nuclear war.  Frasier jolts awake with a vision of a mushroom cloud.  He quickly gets to Woody to tell him it is all a big mistake and he must resign.  It is just not right to toy with the voters to win a bar bet.  It is agreed that Woody will go to the debate and resign the race.

Nothing is ever simple for Woody Boyd.  He bungles the election resignation and handily beats Fogarty who had a last minute sex scandal.  Frasier has another mushroom cloud nightmare.

Everyone! Drink the Kool-Aid, mmm, mmm, mm

I woke up this morning to the news that glorious dear leader had been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.  I heard that the actual nomination occurred two weeks after Barack Hussein’s ascension to the presidency.

The Nobel Prize citation states, “for his [Barack Hussein] extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”  I am literally at a loss for words.  Ain’t change grand?

Barack Hussein Obama!  mmm, mmm, mm.  Pass the kool-aid please.

A Little Nostalgia for Big Bubba

Yesterday I read this item, In bid blame game, point fingers here, in the Chicago Tribune.  I have mentioned before a child hood memory of reading the Chicago Tribune as a child in Alaska.  Grandma OB used it for packing in boxes of things she sent us.  She would also from time to time mail us entire editions.  My memories about reading news items about Mayor Dailey, the Chicago machine, and the mob was that it was very entertaining.

The article above by John Kass for a moment sure did send me back in time.  The style and humor reminded me of days long ago when I was a boy.  I have always been fascinated by places like Chicago and Louisiana that have maintained long term cultures of corruption.  Here in the Great State of Texas we have had incidents of rural county empires.  I just don’t see extensive politics of corruption statewide, or one of our major cities, happening without gunfire being involved.

Lucky for Chicago they don’t have to worry about gunfire since you can’t own a gun there.

The Dreaded Medical Emergency Room

I am like any other American.  I keep listening to the braying jackasses, whether I want to or not, and it starts to make an impact.  Political operators through the ages have known that if you repeat a lie often enough it becomes a truth.  They also know that the big lie has a greater chance of survival then a petty one.

Enter Obama, Reid, Pelosi and their swarm of merry pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracists spewing out bodacious whoppers to the unwashed masses.  I have come to realize that one of their most masterful whoppers is about emergency rooms and who is using the emergency rooms for their primary medical care.

My local pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracist Congressional 20 Rep. Charles Gonzalez wrote to me one time that the hordes of uninsured Americans are clogging up our emergency rooms.  They are receiving very expensive medical care by highly trained doctors and medical personnel.

When I received that info from Gonzalez I had just had two visits to North East Baptist Emergency Room with Bubbette and her mentally challenged sister.  I was very familiar with that setting since I myself had visited there often for my needs and perhaps once for Bubbette.  One visit was when I was dying.

I had trouble computing what Gonzalez said because both visits, with my sister in law, there were no large numbers of clients.  My sister in law has Medicare so she was a paying customer.  Presumably a few others were probably insured.  I know all of my visits, and Bubbette’s, were bought and paid for by our Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

Obama said we need to eliminate the nasty, profit driven insurance companies.  Blue Cross/Blue Shield is on of the largest health insurance companies in America.  BC/BS has slightly over 14 million subscribers.  Approximately 60% of all Federal employees, and retirees, are insured by BC/BS.  Curiously enough it is not a privately held company.  It is owned by consumers.  Obama said we need insurance cooperatives to make things all better.  Hey Barack Hussein!  Consumer owned companies are by definition a cooperative.  I love my cooperative!

I did not see the light until I heard a news report that a recent study had shown that most visitors to emergency rooms have health insurance!  Ain’t that a kick in the head?  Surely the Obamanistas are not pulling a little agitprop on us.  Personally I find appealing to emotions rather than intellect very distasteful.

Just now I was listening to the rerun of Greta van Sustern.  She had an emergency room doctor who said everything would be peachy keen if people stopped getting her expensive treatment and went to a general practitioner for less expensive insured care.

Personally I think that this great conversation about socializing medicine in America is a huge waste of time and resources.  This issue should not even be waiting in the wings for discussion.  This foolishness is unconstitutional and should be quickly dispatched.

Hey, knuckleheads!  Work on getting our purse back in order, constitutionally.  Debtors are slaves and our master is Red China.  Indeed!

Don’t Cry for Homosexual Couples, New York Times

The New York Times continued a drumbeat of propaganda for same-sex marriage this weekend with a front-page story on “The High Price of Being a Gay Couple.” It purported to estimate the financial hardships suffered by same-sex couples because they are not permitted to “marry.” But some of the paper’s assumptions regarding their hypothetical homosexual couple (a lesbian pair in New York) bore little resemblance to the real world, while others inadvertently revealed why there is little reason to pity such couples. For example, they assume this couple has two children and remain together for 46 years until the death of one partner. However, a survey in the journal Demography found that only 22% of female couples and only 5% of male couples (constituting only 0.05% and 0.01% of the population respectively), are raising even one child. And other research has shown that homosexual relationships are far less likely than authentic marriages between a man and woman to last for a lifetime.

Another of the Times‘s assumptions, however, was that the couple would be college-educated, with a joint income of $140,000. This reflects the reality that homosexuals tend to be more highly educated and to have, according to some surveys, higher disposable incomes than heterosexual couples (the median income for a family of four in New York is $75,000–barely half what the hypothetical “gay” couple makes).

Agitprop Theater

Not sure what Agitprop (agitation=”appeal to emotions” + propaganda=”informing the people”) is all about?  Did you see this morning’s broadcast, from the White House Rose Garden, with President Obama meeting with 150 doctors from every state in the union (at least one per state)?  We know the meeting was with actual doctors because they all wore white lab coats.  That makes them doctors, right?

The doctor’s were all “hand selected” to eliminate surprises.  Of course if there were any surprises it wasn’t witnessed by reporters since Obama’s actual meeting with the doctors was private.  Later, in public, Obama make some remarks about “health care reform.  There seemed to be an undercurrent polite murmur from the white coats.  That means that doctors approve, right?

Obama, being the one string banjo that he is, had nothing new to say about his attempt to socialize American medicine.  Life sure would be easier for all concerned if Obama and his merry band of pseudo intellectual progressive liberal demoracists would realize that the sane half of America, and old grouches like Big Bubba, don’t want it and won’t buy the socialist snake oil he’s trying to sell.

Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, Oct 4, 2009

Peace Starts with Prayer

From the Family Research Council

God’s people are commanded to pray for the peace of Jerusalem (Ps. 122:6). With all the threats posed against Israel in the Middle East, the need is great. This Sunday, October 4, millions of Christian believers around the world will join in praying for God’s covenant people in the land of promise. The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem, which is co-chaired by Dr. Jack Hayford and Dr. Robert Stearns, is celebrated every year on the first Sunday of October in churches around the world. To date, more than 200,000 churches have participated from over 175 nations.

Family Research Council is partnering in this strategic prayer effort. Our key verse for our ministry to pastors is Isaiah 62:6, but notice verses 6-7 together: I have posted watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give Him no rest till He establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth. We hope that your local church will participate in this biblical call to prayer for the peace of Jerusalem this Sunday.
