I am interested in Art in my town. We
have many examples of Spanish Colonial architecture in San
Antonio. From the Spanish Colonial era up to modern times I
will be looking at the architecture of San Antonio.
I will take a look at
as expressed here in San Antonio. I may take a look
at Freda Kahlo and Diego Rivera in the future.
We will take a look at public art in San
Antonio. I define as public art that art which may be found
in a public space, especially monumental art. Our latest
addition is a gift from the government of Mexico and the San
Antonio based Association of Mexican Business Owners. It is
"La Antorcha de la Amistad" and stands 65 feet
tall and weighs in at 65 tons. The metal sculpture by the
renowned Mexican Sebastian cost $650,000 dollars.
